Stainless steel is a type of steel produced by adding at least 10.5% chromium as the main alloying element, while the addition of nickel and molybdenum gives it greater corrosion resistance in specific environments. Based on their microstructure or crystalline phase, stainless steels can be divided into four main groups: austenitic, ferritic, martensitic, and duplex. They are fully recyclable, easy to sterilize, and can be used for a variety of purposes, including cookware, cutlery, medical equipment, construction, bridges, automobile bodies, and more. Thanks to their smooth surfaces, they are also excellent for decoration, monuments, and sculptures.
