The neck of the container is glued after filling. The lid is screwed onto the container. After the glue has dried, the lid is adhered to the container. After opening, the backing remains on the lid; the bond between the backing and the foil is broken. The lid remains without any of the remaining bonding layer. The polymer is integrated with the backing (the pulp board hardens).
